Pizza Margarita

The absolute classic Neapolitan Pizza with Mozzarella cheese and a delicious, tangy Tomato Sauce.

For the dough:
  • Wheat flour - 300 g
  • Water - 180 ml
  • Olive oil - 2 tb spoons
  • Dry yeast - 7 g
  • Sugar - 1 t spoon
  • Salt - 1 t spoon
For the filling:
  • Tomatoes - 500 g
  • Garlic - 4 cloves
  • Sugar - 1 t spoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tb spoons
  • Tabasco sauce - 1 t spoon
  • Basil - 8 leaves
  • Oregano - 2 tb spoons
  • Mozzarella cheese - 250 g
  • Grana Padano cheese - 50 g

Recipe


Step 1. Sift the flour on the countertop and make a well in the middle. Add the water and dry yeast.

Step 2. Add the salt. You can add some sugar to taste.

Step 3. Add more water.

Step 4.  Add the olive oil. It will make the dough more elastic.

Step 5. Start kneading the dough.

Step 6. Knead it, stretching so all the ingredients are combined.

Step 7. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let rise for 30-40 minutes.

Step 8. Stretch the dough to have a base 30-34 cm in diameter.

Step 9. Make the filling. Blend the tomatoes with garlic and add basil and oregano.

Step 10. Add the olive oil. You can also add sugar and tabasco sauce.

Step 11. Spread the sauce on the base, sprinkle with grated Grana Padano cheese and put in the oven for 10 minutes.

Step 12. Dice the mozzarella cheese.

Step 13. When the pizza is golden brown on top, arrange the mozzarella cheese and continue baking for 5 more minutes. Serve the pizza with fresh basil leaves.
